Havant Conservative Association are pleased to announce that Councillor Michael Wilson is the new Leader of the council for the borough of Havant.
Cllr Wilson was elected as Leader at a meeting of the Full Council on Wednesday 9 May 2018, following his re-election at the recent local elections on 3 May.
Representing Hayling West ward, Cllr Wilson has been a councillor since 2010 and has been Cabinet lead for Environment and Neighbourhood Services prior to his appointment as Leader of the Council.
Michael Wilson, who grew up on Hayling Island, lives in the ward he represents with his wife and two daughters. He has his own business and is keen to promote and support other local businesses.
Cllr Michael Wilson said: "It is a great honour to be elected Leader of the Council and I'm looking forward to working with my colleagues to ensure Havant Borough Council continues to have a strong reputation as an efficient council with a focus on giving value for money for taxpayers and supporting the growth of our local economy.”
