Former Conservative Councillor, Mayor and member of Havant Conservative Association Victor Pierce Jones has passed away at the age of 84.

Born in Wrexham, Wales, Vic served as a Havant borough councillor for 14 years, eventually becoming Mayor of Havant in 2007. 

Having graduated with an English degree from the University of Oxford in the 1960s, Vic enjoyed 27 years as a teacher. His intellectual curiosity saw him write his own book - including Saint or Sensationalist? His other interests included amateur dramatics and writing for and delivering the Hayling Islander.
