At todays budget the Chancellor highlighted some of our past achievements in government including cutting the deficit by two thirds, creating 1000 jobs every single day day, cutting income tax, growing our economy and increasing spending on our public services to name but a few.
But at the centre of this budget was a vision for the future of our country. How together we can build a Britain that is fairer and more prosperous.
Highlights of the budget included:
- A freeze in fuel duty
- The removal of stamp duty for first time buyers
- More funding for our public services
- A pledge to build 300,000 new homes each year
- Reduction in income tax
- A commitment to our environment
- Increase in the national living wage
