It was a year that was very much impacted by Covid and lockdowns, but finished last week with a brilliant set of candidates in County and Borough elections. After the counting finished, we completed a clean sweep of election victories.
In the Hampshire County Council elections, we defended all five of our seats, ensuring that each of them now has a vote share of over 50 per cent. And in the Borough Council, we also completed a clean sweep. Some highlights include:
- Tom Moutray winning Battins for the first time since 2004
- Richard Stone ensuring the entire ward of Bondfields is Conservative for the first time in at least 45 years
- Dianne Lloyd winning 66 per cent of the vote in Stakes
- Yvonne Weeks re-elected with the highest vote share percentage of any Councillor in the Association area
This wouldn't have been possible without the hard work of candidates and the wonderful volunteers we have here in the Association that have helped deliver literature, stand at polling stations and spread the word on social media. There are too many to mention but we couldn't have done it without you!
