Conservative Councillor Edward Rees has secured funding to assist with the much needed repairs to Havant District Scout Centre, Fraser Road, Bedhampton.
Over the years the centre had fallen into disrepair and was no longer fit for purpose. Faults with plumbing, lighting and woodworm all had to be addressed.
Cllr Rees who was a Scout in Havant in his youth was keen to help turn the centre around. Cllr Rees was a member of Leigh Park Scout group from five years old and has first hand experience of the positive impact that Scouting can have on young people.
Cllr Rees would like to pass on his thanks to all of those who are actively involved in delivering Scouting in our Borough. Over 500 young people are part of the Scout movement in Havant and it could not be successful without the volunteers who lead it.
